Fly Fishing

Recognized worldwide among fans this ecological sport, Los Roques is one of the best options when it comes to catching Macabí (bone-fish).

Los Roques rises from the depths that surround it almost perfect like an atoll in the South Pacific. Only 80 nautical miles from the port of La Guaira on the coast of Venezuela, it's famous for its numerous sand banks, which offer the fisherman not only lots of specimens of bone fish, but also pampanos, sábalos, mackerel, tuna, sea bass and barracuda.

While it is better to go by boat to the sandbanks located south of Gran Roque in surroundings known as "la Ensenada de los corales", also on the island of Gran Roque, or some others like Madrisqui, you can fish from the shore, which is an advantage for those who do not want to spend much and enjoy the magic of Fly Fishing.
